General Health

Although specialising in fertility and pregnancy I have also for many years been treating general health conditions. I use a variety of healing tools such as Acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutritional supplements, dietary and lifestyle advice.

Acupuncture is well known for treating physical pain. It is also effective for an extensive and varied list of health concerns. Traditional Chinese Medicine, of which Acupuncture plays a key role, is infact a complete medical system that is concerned with all systems of the body including nervous, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, gynaecological, reproductive, hormonal, and musculoskeletal. Textbook lists of conditions treatable by acupuncture extend into the hundreds.

In 1979 the World Health Organisation (WHO) officially endorsed Acupuncture and evidenced over 40 disorders it effectively treats.

Acupuncture can also be used regularly as a way of maintaining good general health and thereby prevent illness. Areas of imbalance can be identified and rectified before illness and disease have the opportunity to take hold. Good health is maintained by continually addressing and building on your body’s areas of weakness and disharmony.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments required depends on the particular condition being treated and on the individual themselves. Conditions that you have had for a long time or that are quite severe generally take a longer time to treat than acute, mild ones which may resolve after only one or two treatments.

Regular acupuncture effectively decreases the incidence of illness and increases vitality and one’s sense of well being.
